Vegan Sausages

Ingredients

  • 2 cups gluten flour (vital wheat gluten)
  • ½ cup chickpea flour
  • ½ cup nutritional yeast
  • 1 tbsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tbsp onion powder
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • 2 tbsp dried herbs
  • ½ cup soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp bbq sauce
  • 1 tbsp tomato paste
  • 2 tbsp liquid smoke
  • 1.5 cups hot water

Directions

Step 1

Bring a large pot of water to boil & then simmer on low.

Step 2

In a medium sized bowl, mix dry ingredients until combined.

Step 3

Add wet ingredients & mix well. Knead mixture with your hands for approx 10mins.

Step 4

Cut mixture into 8 even sized pieces. Shape each piece into a sausage & wrap with glad wrap, tightly tying at each end.

Step 5

Place sausage into simmering water & poach for 40 minutes.

Step 6

Remove the pot from the heat & allow the sausages to cool in the water.

Step 7

Once cooled, you can unwrap sausages & cook in a fry pan, or refrigerate/freezer for later use.
